The Senior Product Manager will execute on strategies that enhance the value of the GSI global ecommerce platform to its customer base, while improving GSI Commerce's competitive positioning and market share. The successful candidate will work with cross functional teams in understanding and prioritizing the business goals for the global platform and be responsible for implementing and documenting localization capabilities on the platform. The candidate will be responsible for overseeing the internationalization effort while developing the support and sales collateral for the global sales team.

The Senior Product Manager will work with the GSI President of International to prioritize, lead and direct technology investment to enhance the platform. S/he will be the primary communication liaison to the sales and business teams about the roadmap and implementation progress and will articulate the configuration and implementation options associated with a localized deployment.

S/he will be responsible for collaborating with business analysts and technology architects in delivering clear and complete product requirement to the development team. The Senior Product Manager will be responsible for identifying components requiring flexibility and scale based on localized requirements. S/he will be responsible for coordinating with the product management team to ensure that all new features and functions on the GSI platform are compliant and compatible with internationalization efforts.

The Senior Product Manager will ultimately be accountable for the on time/on-strategy development of the global capabilities and minimizing the implementation cost of new localized sites by supporting the launch of sites with documentation and platform expertise. This will include managing the scope of the internationalization project, communicating about global platform to internal and external business stakeholders, and collaborating with the technology teams to manage business issues and priorities to ensure budget and deadline adherence. The Senior Product Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for the international capabilities of the global GSI platform.

The candidate must be willing to travel for international engagements (approximately 8-10 times per year) to support sales efforts or to engage with the GSI International business team (headquartered in Europe) to develop and understand local business requirements. This position will be based in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania.


Experience - External

The Senior Product Manager will have a successful track record of managing products and services, ideally in e-commerce, business intelligence, catalog management, content management, or in a comparable fast-moving technology category. The successful candidate will be extremely effective at driving projects to completion, and producing supporting product documentation and materials.

The candidate must have the ability to successfully juggle multiple projects and be effective at influencing a wide range of groups within a company. It is important that he or she quickly establishes credibility with the internal technology team, partner account management teams and with the international business teams.


Additional requirements include

  • Technical/Quantitative Undergraduate Degree
  • Experience in professional services/client services
  • 5+ years experience in Product Management / Project Management at an e-commerce/Internet company
  • 5+ years experience managing multi-year, large scale initiatives and process
  • 2-3 years experience with budget oversight and accountability on large scale projects
  • 2-3 years experience in the development or management of the internationalization of a technology product is preferable
  • Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation and negotiation)
  • Excellent relationship building skills with internal business and technical teams, as well as external clients/vendors and prospects
  • Comfortable reviewing architectural and application designs and participating in product evaluations
  • Ability to translate technology features and business rules into high level feature sets and sales collateral
  • Ability to identify common requirements across disparate sources
  • Exceptional project management skills in a technical domain along with an ability to successfully juggle multiple projects and manage changing priorities
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams
  • Thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically
  • German or French fluency a plus but not a requirement
  • Familiarity with international markets and/or commerce regulations
