Job Description

Maptek seeks an experienced and enthusiastic Global Services Product Marketing Manager (GPM) who can "product-ize" our service offerings and separate Maptek from the competition. We already have world-class expertise and experience in the mining industry. We need to understand our customers challenges and create service offerings (support, training, and professional services) that make Maptek the superior choice.

Maptek intends for this position to be the "voice of the customer" for Maptek with our primary objective to translate customer needs into future service development. We envision this job occurring in several stages:

  1. Develop a feedback and reporting process to understand the marketplace, customer needs / requirements, and how Maptek will respond
  2. Based upon this research, develop a service roadmap document and establish a business case for developing new features and/or products
  3. Work with other departments to assist in executing the roadmap, including launching and service pricing for all regions
  4. Demonstrate ROI from the execution of the service roadmap through concrete metrics
  5. Initiate a quality management review of the entire process


Desired skills

  • Experience marketing, promoting, or configuring professional services (support, training, etc), preferably in a software / technology environment.
  • Proven success in developing new service offerings and brining those to market
  • Demonstrated success and work history in the product management cycle including:
    • Customer input
    • Market analysis and business case development, Product requirements documents
    • Development of marketing material
    • Cross-functional collaboration (especially with [technical] Product Development)
    • Regular process improvement cycles
  • Demonstrated ability in the critical analysis of services placement, pricing, and marketing dynamics
  • Demonstrated skills with marketing or product management on a global level
  • Demonstrated work history in developing effective marketing communications and collateral (product briefs, white papers, value statements, web site material, etc.)
  • University degree of Bachelors level or above in a marketing, technical or business discipline
  • MBA preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills including the ability to build effective working relationships
