For new product management association leaders

Pragmatic Marketing has helped many local groups get started. We're always glad to help another group form.

Your first meeting generally will have less than a dozen people so it's not a big logistics nightmare. Most groups host the meeting at a founding member's company or at a local library. Your initial meeting should just be about logistics such as preferences for meetings, some basic bylaws or a group mission statement; some group have an initial presentation as a "draw" for members. We would be glad to offer such a presentation if the first meeting coincides with a planned trip in the area.

Yahoo! Groups may be all you need to get a web presence. You can do calendars, discussions, file posting and more. Membership can be open or moderated. Two or three of the groups have created a dedicated web site but this may be overkill for most. In addition, some groups also use Evite to announce meetings and get a tally of who is likely to attend.

Is this enough to get started? Let us know the details of your first meeting and we'll send a message to Pragmatic Marketing alumni in your area.
