Are you new to Product Management and don't know where to start?

Few people learn the role of product manager at "Product Management school". Most come to the role from somewhere else in a company, like development, sales engineering, marketing, support or implementation. Companies that do not understand the strategic role of product management expect a product manager to be the go-to person for any product-related problem the company is experiencing. Like sales demos to help meet quota or writing design specifications because the next release is behind schedule. In other words, serving as the janitor of the product, rather than the CEO. Doing clean-up tasks rather than determining the strategy for the product based on identifying problems in the market.

What you need is a definition of the role that everyone can understand and a way to organize your work that allows you to be the CEO of your product. Having a library of templates for all aspects of this clearly defined role would just be a nice bonus.

The Pragmatic Marketing Framework provides the structure for successful, market-driven product management. Since 1993, it has been used by thousands of product managers world-wide to create break-through products and market-leadership positions for hundreds of companies.
