The Top Ten Lies of Entrepreneurs

Guy Kawasaki writes, "I get pitched dozens of times every year, and every pitch contains at least three or four of these lies. I provide them not because I believe I can increase the level of honesty of entrepreneurs as much as to help entrepreneurs come up with new lies. At least new lies indicate a modicum of creativity!" Product managers are often in the same situation: pitching new product ideas to a jaded audience--the executive team. A new product pitch explains the product idea, the competitive landscape, the financials, the challenges. And these are all impacted by the sources of data. What assumptions are you making and where/how did you test them? Remember, developers need data; financial thinkers need formulas. Explain the data and process, and you're half the way there.
